Katherine Gets The Kids

Katherine Jackson has reportedly been given guardianship of Michael Jackson's children but not to their estate.

The mother of the late pop icon filed papers for guardianship on Monday morning and her request was approved for her to look after her grandchildren temporarily, the Associated Press reports. The papers were filed in Los Angeles Supreme Court and a hearing has been set for August 3.

According to the filings, Katherine is petitioning to take over the kid's estate. The children are currently living at the Jackson's compound.

Michael is survived by his three children: Prince Michael Jackson I, 12, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11, and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II, 7.
